An Autumn Afternoon

Shuhei Hirayama (Chishu Ryu) is a widower who has lived comfortably for years with his 24-year-old daughter, but he gradually realizes she should not be obliged to look after him for the rest of his life; after a series of events, he arranges and encourages her marriage and her departure from their home.
