Ashes and Diamonds

Set on the final day of World War II in a small Polish town, the story unfolds amidst the tension between Polish war exiles and the occupying Soviet forces as they face the dawn of a new era for Poland. In this volatile atmosphere, Home Army soldier Maciek Chelmicki is tasked with a critical mission to assassinate an incoming commissar. However, an unexpected error disrupts his plans, bringing him into contact with Krystyna, a captivating barmaid whose presence offers him a fleeting vision of a different life.
