Set in the politically fraught autumn of 1936, this mystery follows hard-boiled reporter Zsigmond Gordon as he probes the murder of a young prostitute.
Against the backdrop of the funeral of a fascist-leaning Hungarian prime minister, Gordon follows clues that take him into the city's underbelly -- a world of pornography and fixers, boxers and brothels, powerful crime syndicates, and secret Communist cells -- and all the way to the highest echelons of power.
