Óscar (Óscar Hernández) escapes from rehab and vanishes physically, while his brother Mario (Mario Banderas) grapples with confounding images that do not belong to him, leading to his mental disappearance. Together, they wander through shifting realms, as Mario delves into a warren of ominous underground caverns. Their journey surfaces into everyday scenes of adolescent idleness amid the cramped homes and vast streets of Mexico City's working-class Iztapalapa suburb, where games and signs persist from an opening carnival roulette wheel that spins endlessly, its arrow pointing fatefully.
