Kin, a retired geisha, has become a wealthy yet cold-hearted moneylender who spends her days relentlessly collecting debts. Her closest friends and former fellow geishas Tomi, Nobu, and Tamae now owe her money, their once-glamorous lives faded. Tomi and Tamae endure the disappointment of ungrateful children, while two of Kin’s former lovers still pursue her. She longs to see one but dreads the other, only to discover that even the man she remembers fondly brings nothing but fresh disappointment.
