After a wild night out, Richard comes home and gets into a heated argument with his wife, Maria. He drops the bombshell that he wants a divorce, storms out, and heads off to see another woman. In response, Maria decides to hit the town with her friends at a nightclub. That's where she meets Chet, and they end up spending the night together. The next morning, as Chet is sneaking out, Richard returns home. This sets the stage for a critical confrontation between the two, as their relationship spirals downward.
