Hopeless

Despite not having experienced the life he desires during his 18 years, Yeon-gyoo, a teenage boy, continues to hold onto hope. He yearns to break free from his violent hometown, where neighborly conflict is commonplace, with the sole desire of leading a peaceful life alongside his mother. Unfortunately, the world seems determined to quash his dreams and extinguish his hope. When Yeon-gyoo finds himself in need of assistance from adults, Chi-geon, a local tough guy, steps in to help. This seemingly simple act of kindness plunges Yeon-gyoo into Chi-geon's world, ironically pulling him deeper into a life he never intended to embrace. As he grapples with the possibility of escaping his current circumstances, Yeon-gyoo finds himself torn between two worlds. The question remains: will he ultimately manage to break free from his hometown?
