At forty, Fabio drifts through life, somewhat lost, finding solace in alcohol and in Marie, who's twenty years his senior and with whom he has a secret affair. One day, he gets called to serve as a juror in a criminal trial, where he must judge a young arsonist charged with involuntary manslaughter.
