The life of the mystic Veronica Giuliani (1660-1727) stigmatized at 33, Pope Leo XIII considered it "the most soul adorned with supernatural gifts after the Mother of God." Its amazing experience of God, considered by some "unique and unrepeatable", lived in hiding in the convent of the Capuchin Poor Clares in Città di Castello in Umbria, has come down to us through a vast diary of over 22,000 manuscript papers, which she had to write for obedience and has been called "a hidden treasure".
