L'histoire jugera

In 2016, when the Colombian government and the FARC were coming close to sign a peace agreement, Germán Gutiérrez started filming in one of the last camps of the guerrilla in the mountains. Most of the ex-combatants he met were Afro-Colombians, Indigenous and poor campesinos, many of them women. He decided that it was with them that he would make his film, tell their personal stories, some that the leaders of the FARC may not be happy to hear, and some a large part of Colombian society may not be willing to accept. For 6 years, he was at the forefront of a crucial historical period which would end with the election of Gustavo Petro, a former M-19 guerrilla, as president of Colombia.
