L'île de la demoiselle

In 1542, Marguerite de la Rocque is betrothed to her uncle, the viceroy of Canada and commander of an expedition to the New World. She encounters Thomas d'Artois, a crew member who ultimately abuses her, leading to her pregnancy. When the condition is discovered mid-voyage, Marguerite finds herself marooned on a desolate island alongside Thomas and her servant, where the isolated trio battles harsh elements as despair and madness loom ever closer.
