    Sonia, a bubbly widow who owns most of Marshovia, relocates to Paris. Captain Danilo (Maurice Chevalier), a suave ladies man, pursues her to avert his homeland's financial ruin by winning her back through love, which takes a delirious course amid rapturous music and the swirling Merry Widow Waltz.
