Labors of Love: The Life and Legacy of Henrietta Szold

Born in Baltimore in 1860, Henrietta Szold devoted herself to learning and service, assisting Jewish immigrants and establishing English-language night schools. After a visit to Palestine in 1909, she founded Hadassah to empower Jewish American women and provide aid to the region. As the Nazis rose to power, Szold launched initiatives that saved thousands of Jewish children. A humanitarian who advocated for cooperation between Israelis and Palestinians, she left a legacy of compassion and service.
