Les Mains d'Orlac

In Paris, demented surgeon Dr. Gogol (Peter Lorre) becomes obsessed with actress Yvonne Orlac (Frances Drake) and is crushed when she leaves the stage to devote herself to concert pianist husband Stephen (Colin Clive). After Stephen loses his hands in a train wreck, Gogol grafts on the hands of an executed murderer skilled at knife throwing. Stephen can no longer play piano but throws knives with deadly accuracy as his hands pursue a desire to kill, pushing him toward insanity. Rejected by Yvonne, Gogol plots to hasten Stephen's demise.
