At a Japanese high school, the annual festival approaches, and Kyoko (Aki Maeda), Kei (Yu Kashii), and Nozumi (Shiori Sekine) scramble to find a new lead singer after their band dissolves. Kei brings in Son (Du-na Bae), a Korean exchange student grappling with the language barrier. The group decides to cover three songs by the 80s punk rock band The Blue Hearts, pushing through late-night rehearsals as Son works on her Japanese and Kei hones her guitar skills. Amid typical teenage challenges -- romantic entanglements, ex-boyfriend dilemmas, and personal insecurities -- they nearly miss their performance due to oversleeping, a frantic rush, forgotten instruments, and unexpected rain, yet manage to take the stage just in time for a memorable show.
