Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom

Ugyen, a young teacher in modern Bhutan who shirks his duties while planning to go to Australia to become a singer, is sent as a reprimand to the most remote school in the world in the village called Lunana deep in the Himalayan glaciers. After an arduous 8 day trek he is exiled from Westernized comforts with no electricity no textbooks not even a blackboard only a yak and a song that echoes through the mountains. Poor villagers welcome him but he wants to quit teaching without supplies until the beautiful children's hardship and villagers' amazing spiritual strength transform him.
