Medea

In Corinth, Medea lives with Jason and their two young sons when King Kreon rewards Jason with marriage to his daughter Glauce and the promise of the throne, banishing Medea and the boys. Jason insists this secures their future, yet Medea pleads to stay, a request Kreon denies. She asks for one more day and urges Jason to seek permission for the sons to remain. He agrees, and Medea prepares a gift for her sons to deliver to Glauce.
