In mid-1960s Lima, Paris-born trophy wife Norma (Barbara Mori) watches her position in high society crumble when her Peruvian politician husband abandons her for a younger woman, sparking a public scandal that draws scorn from hypocritical friends and demands from eager creditors. As her initial rage and helplessness fade, survival instincts surface beneath her polished facade of pampered glamour. Her chauffeur, Oscar (Pudy Ballumbrosio), whose own abilities have been limited by race and class, urges her to revive a forgotten dream of opening an upscale restaurant.
