Nattvardsgästerna

On a cold winter's Sunday, the pastor of a small rural church (Tomas Ericsson) performs a service for a tiny congregation while suffering from a cold and a severe crisis of faith. After the service, he tries to console a fisherman (Jonas Persson) tormented by anxiety, but can only speak of his own troubled relationship with God. A schoolteacher (Maerta Lundberg) offers (Tomas Ericsson) her love as consolation for his loss of faith, yet he resists it as desperately as she extends it to him.
