In Taipei, street vendor Hsiao-kang shares a fleeting encounter with Shiang-chyi, a young woman departing for France. Amid chaos at home, where his mother senses his late father's spirit everywhere, Hsiao-kang obsesses over the stranger, resetting city clocks to Paris time and watching The 400 Blows. Meanwhile, Shiang-chyi navigates the unfamiliar streets of Paris alone, culminating in a serendipitous meeting with Jean-Pierre Léaud in a cemetery, as their parallel lives highlight the quirks of connection across distances.
