Onibaba

A mother and daughter-in-law scrape out a feral subsistence in the grassy marshlands of sixteenth-century Japan by robbing and murdering lost samurai and selling their belongings. While one carries on an affair with their neighbor, the other meets a mysterious samurai wearing a bizarre mask, and the pair come into possession of a demonic mask that leads events down a macabre path.
