Orphelin

In the late 1950s, amidst the backdrop of Communist Hungary, a young boy named Andor (Bojtorján Barabas) clings to the hope that his father, absent since the war, will one day return to him and his mother. Raised solely by her, Andor's world is shaken when a new figure, Berend (Grégory Gadebois), enters their lives, asserting a claim over both mother and son. Berend, a butcher and a gentile, carries the additional stigma of being a divorcee, which horrifies Andor. Driven by a fierce resolve, the boy sets out to protect his mother from this man he perceives as a crude intruder, determined to preserve the family he has always known.
