Small-town gas station owner Joe Jenkins (Jack Haley) travels to Hollywood to make all the connections necessary for his sweetheart, Cecilia Moore (Rosina Lawrence), to realize her dreams and become a star. But a case of 'camera fright' and the romantic overtures of a matinee idol threaten to thwart Joe's plans.
