Singing in the Rain

After honing skills on the vaudeville stage Don Lockwood (Gene Kelly) becomes a swashbuckling silent screen star. Ingenue Kathy Selden (Debbie Reynolds) shatters his confidence by dismissing actors as "shadows" without substance. He falls hard for her to the consternation of sexy selfish costar Lina Lamont (Jean Hagen) who wants him all to herself. THE JAZZ SINGER's popularity has studios scrambling to talkies where Lina's shrill voice and Don's stiff acting leave the preview audience roaring with laughter. They save their careers by turning THE DUELLING CAVALIER into a musical with Kathy secretly dubbing Lina's lines and songs but can they hide the truth from Lina?
