Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home

Living in exile on Vulcan, the ragtag former crew of the USS Enterprise steal a starship upon Earth's distress call as a space probe orbits Earth, disables power, evaporates the oceans and destroys the atmosphere. An unidentified cylinder neutralizes vessels and sends a probe that sucks the water, disrupting Earth so the sun no longer rises and temperatures drop. Captain Kirk (William Shatner), Spock (Leonard Nimoy) and officers time travel to 1986 San Francisco to retrieve extinct humpback whales to communicate with the probe and send it away, finding a world of punk, pizza and exact-change buses.
