THE BEST THING THAT HAPPENED TO ME is an original musical about a Chicago restaurant owner named Justin Alexander. One day while working at his salon, Justin finds out from one of his clients - a detective with the Dallas Police Department - that his deceased ex-girlfriend has a son who is in the child welfare system. Upon further investigation, Justin discovers that the deceased girlfriend's son, who was put up for adoption, was born around 9 months after he and his ex-girlfriend broke up. Justin immediately begins a pursuit to make contact with the young man who may be his son.
