The Joneses is a portrait of a unique family in the Mississippi Bible Belt presided over by transgender matriarch Jheri Jones. A platinum blonde and true Southern belle, Jheri embraces the world with wit and sass equaled only by the love for her four sons. Delving into the deep and complex bonds that make up a family, The Joneses is a story of love, forgiveness, triumph and a little bit of good old fashioned home cookin'.

While her sons miss the father they knew, they have come to embrace Jheri to become a close-knit family unit. Sons Trevor and Brad even moved into Jheri's mobile home. Despite past resentments and frequent arguments, they each struggle to achieve their own hopes and dreams. And with teenage grandchildren starting to ask questions, it's time for Jheri to reveal her truth to a new generation of Joneses.
