The Last Song Before the War

For more than 12 years musicians from around the world gathered to perform in the heart of Mali at the Festival in The Desert. Originally conceived as a celebratory gathering where politics and religious differences could be set aside, the festival disbanded in 2012 after Islamic militants seized control of Northern Mali. The Last Song Before the War is a beautiful testament to this unique festival and its final year before being exiled, along with hundreds of thousands of citizens., , , ,
