2023 Documentary
In 1947, a train sank in Slocan Lake. 75 years later, a diver and his team, along with a 99-year-old brakeman who survived the incident, try to find and recover the historic steam locomotive. They face tough conditions in one of Canada's deepest lakes, which is up to 1000 feet deep. The expedition is challenging, but as they search, they uncover interesting stories about the people who live in the remote mountains of British Columbia. "The Last Stop: Canada's Lost Locomotive" explores the region's mining history in the Kootenays, where growth happened during a gold rush long ago but declined in the mid-1900s, with the train symbolizing this history.
