Warhol was always fond of plainly descriptive titles for his films, so The Nude Restaurant accordingly takes place in -- you guessed it -- a restaurant where Viva and Taylor Mead wittily hold court amidst a bevy of diners who are nude, save for g-strings. J.J. Murphy has interpreted the film as a plotless "extended talk show" influenced by television, with the performers speaking candidly on everything from mundane personal travails to contemporary political flashpoints.
