In the gritty streets of urban Skid Row, nerdy orphan Seymour Krelborn toils at Mushnik's flower shop, nursing a secret crush on his coworker Audrey Fulquard while enduring daily abuse from his boss, Mr. Mushnik. When Seymour discovers a strange, unidentified plant he dubs Audrey II, it reveals a voracious appetite for blood and starts demanding meals in song. Desperate to satisfy it, Seymour feeds the plant Audrey's sadistic dentist boyfriend, then eliminates Mushnik after he witnesses the gruesome act. As Audrey II grows more powerful, the question looms: will it conquer the world, or can Seymour and Audrey stop it?
