Top Guns

Maverick, a hot pilot, encounters MiGs over the Persian Gulf and talks his outflown, panicked wingman back to the carrier on minimal fuel. After the wingman resigns, Maverick advances to the Top Gun Naval Fighter Weapons School. There his reckless attitude and cocky demeanor clash with rival pilots, especially the cool Iceman, while he confronts the story of his father's death in disputed airspace and pursues his strong attraction to civilian instructor Charlie as he strives to become the best.
