Une affaire de femmes

In Nazi-occupied France an impoverished mother named Marie (Huppert) struggles to make ends meet after her husband returns home wounded from the war. She finds success and a chance at a better life by performing clandestine abortions, work that puts her in conflict with the Vichy regime's brutal ban on the practice, which it regards as a crime against the state.
