    Sir Alfred De Carter, a world-famous symphony conductor, suspects his wife (Linda Darnell) of infidelity. During a concert he envisions three elaborate acts of vengeance, each set to a different orchestral work. After the performance he attempts to carry out his murderous fantasies, yet events unfold far differently in reality than in his imagination.
