Shot in a dream-like, almost hallucinatory manner, Carl Bessai's Unnatural and Accidental courageously explores the strange disappearances of Aboriginal women in downtown Vancouver. Far more than a simple whodunit, the film investigates the plight of these women who are menaced by a multitude of demons, ranging from poverty and malign neglect to alcoholism and drug addiction.
