Dead Reckoning

Rip Murdock and his war buddy Johnny Drake head to Washington, D.C., by train to receive Congressional Medals of Honor when Drake suddenly disappears. Determined to uncover the truth, Murdock traces Johnny's shadowy past, discovering he was framed for murder and then killed. His search leads to Johnny's former sweetheart, Coral Chandler (Lizabeth Scott), now a seductive chanteuse in a nightclub owned by brutal gangster Martinelli (Morris Carnovsky). As Murdock falls under Coral's charms, he becomes entangled in a dangerous web of blackmail, gambling, deceit, and intrigue.
