The Roaring Twenties

After World War I, Eddie Bartlett (Cagney), George Hally (Bogart) and Lloyd Hart (Jeffey Lynn) return home and turn to bootlegging during Prohibition, amassing wealth and power by operating on both sides of the law. Their bond frays as they become rivals over Jean Sherman (Priscilla Lane), loved by Hally and Hart. The stock market crash and their criminal pursuits end violently as a zealous district attorney, their former comrade, closes in.
