In 1981, the families of eight leukemia victims in Massachusetts sued Beatrice Foods and W. R. Grace, two large, powerful corporations. On their side was Jan Schlictmann, an attorney who went from small-scale cases to this massive crusade that would take a decade of his life and nearly cost him his career. On the side of the companies was the very successful corporate lawyer, Jerry Facher.
