Une ultime grâce

Bernadine Williams (Alfre Woodard), a prison warden in a maximum security prison, drifts from her husband while carrying out executions as she struggles to salvage her soul, her sense of self, and her sense of right and wrong. She forms a unique bond with death-row inmate Anthony Woods (Aldis Hodge) that peels back a layer of emotional skin, forcing her to confront the relationship between good intentions, unrequited desires, and what it means to be sanctioned to kill. As she prepares to execute another inmate, Bernadine faces the psychological and emotional demons her job creates, ultimately connecting her to the man she is sanctioned to kill.
