    Les Dépouilles avant de Mourir suit un pianiste devenu détective (Williams) qui enquête sur un meurtre dans la scène jazz underground des années 1950. La série met en vedette une pléthore de personnes drôles dans une satire de film noir parfaite, avec les réflexions caractéristiques de l'auteur/raconteur Eric Jonrosh (Ferrell) sur la création de son roman interdit/chef-d'œuvre télévisuel.
